Tour Description;
Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, Turkey, embodies centuries of Ottoman history. Built in 1459 by Sultan Mehmed II, it served as the center of power for Ottoman sultans for nearly four centuries. Through successive expansions and renovations, the palace evolved into a complex of stunning architecture, blending Byzantine and Ottoman styles. Its purpose was multifaceted, housing the sultan's residence, government offices, and treasures. However, with the decline of the Ottoman Empire, its significance waned, and it became a museum in 1924 under Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Today, Topkapi Palace Museum preserves the legacy of the Ottoman era, offering a glimpse into the opulence and history of one of the world's most powerful empires.
Discovering imperial treasures, sultan’s private life, cultural artifacts, and panoramic views of Istanbul's skyline, making it a must-visit museum for history enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike.
After Topkapi, Our final stop, Hagia Eirene, the Church of the Holy Peace, is one of the few churches in Istanbul that was never converted into a mosque, as it was used as an arsenal until the 19th century. Hagia Eirene reputedly stands on the site of a pre-Christian temple and has the distinction of being the first church built in Byzantium as it was converted into the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire.
